The Two Best New Designer Clothing Brands of 2009

2009 was a great year for men's designer clothing, seeing in the debut release of several fresh and exciting collections. New brands were released all across the sector, but there were two that really stood out strongly amongst their competitors. And so, as 2010 has settled in, it is time to look back on these and celebrate their very first offerings.

Pretty Green

Pretty Green was always going to be popular in the United Kingdom, but was a little surprising was how well it was received Worldwide. The Pretty Green clothing collection was created by Liam Gallagher - an ex-frontman of British rock band 'Oasis'. Many of the items were strictly limited edition, with only 100 made available Worldwide. They sold out within an hour of becoming available.

The Pretty Green Autumn/Winter 2009 collection was announced to fans of the brand first through the social networking sites Twitter and Facebook, as well as through YouTube. Social networking has been a very important element in the Brand's success. Gallagher has been taking and answering questions directly from the public through this medium since the brand was first announced.

Knowing that the Autumn/Winter collection will be an even bigger hit than the earlier Spring/Summer collection, Pretty Green expanded the range as well as its distribution policy. They chose 2 designer menswear retailers from each major city and 30 online stores. Independent stores were favoured over chain stores, and the 30 online stores were chosen from amongst the brick and mortar stores.

Natural Selection

British football legend, David Beckham, is known for his great fashion sense throughout the World. Being an eBay Powerseller can make you a ton of money fast, but it can also bring with it the continual headache and hassle of sourcing a good line of genuine, regular, well priced stock that will give you a great ROI (Return On Investment). If you are looking at selling Genuine Designer Clothes, the headaches and hassles can multiply drastically as every con man and scammer will tell you that they have that genuine source, only for them to take your money and be gone. However, if this is the niche for you, then you really need to school yourself in how to find genuine wholesale designer clothes.

Well firstly you need to understand and accept that most, not all, but most of the sites that are offering you 50 x polo shirts, 100 x trousers on a regular and constant basis are probably selling you counterfeit items. Some labels even go as far as having discreet outlets and channels, kind of like factory shops or seconds, and they get rid of their excess stock this way. Again, how do you even find out where and when this stock is being sold? What if you live on one side of the world and your chosen brand has their factory shop on the other side of the world, can you phone them up and reserve a batch? Again no! You have to "fly and buy" and if you cannot afford the cash or the time to do that, again you miss out.

In essence the labels have a brand that they have worked hard at creating and publicising. They work equally as hard to protect that brand/name and looking at it from their point of view, who can blame them? It is their creativity, it is their talent and money and it is their product. However, that does not mean that there are not genuine items out there to be bought and sold and from which a great profit can be made selling on auctions such as Ebay, you just have to know where to look.

Real Wedding : Laura & Tom

What can I say about Laura and Tom? They are both incredibly creative, sweet and caring, and their wedding was this quirky vintage hollywood glam affair with so many sweet and artistic personal details at the gorgeous 1840's Ballroom and Carrollton Inn  in the Heart of Downtown Baltimore.

Laura is a brilliant illustrator and with the help of her friend, bridesmaid and Illustrator Elizabeth Graeber, created these great portraits that served as favors and seating charts, and she and her friend also created the signs with ribbon and the delicious macaroons.

LOVE this Illustration of Laura and Tom, just one of many creative personal touches.

Tom's cufflinks were a smart and dapper nod to his Cambridge Roots and Laura's Baltimore upbringing.

Every table featured a different centerpieces from Fleur de Lis

In lieu of a traditional wedding cake, Laura and Tom opted for their favorite dessert, an Ice Cream Cake, which proved much more difficult to cut than expected.
