Fashion dresses in 2012 : New York Fashion Week 2012

Oh, Fashion Week. That time of year when city is extra full of well-dressed people and your twitter feed is full of runway twitpics from that kid in your art history class who, omg, just ran into Tavi at a #NYFW.

Now it is all over. We somehow made it through the seemingly endless cheek kissing, catwalk stumbles, Basketball Wives, and lists on lists on lists. We are wiped out, hung over, and feeling exceptionally poor in the face of all this designer everything. But we had fun, so we’re going to tell you about it.

For those of you with other priorities, Gallatin’s own Benjamin Richardson has waded through the industry’s insanity (and sometimes inanity). Welcome to NYU Local’s massive Fashion Week Roundup:
Wednesday

Wednesday night started off fashion week with a bang at The Hole, a contemporary art gallery located on the Bowery. Upstairs hosted a special three-day exhibition of acclaimed fashion photographer and hair designer Bob Recine, while downstairs in the basement was the presentation of Veda. Guests like Ashley Smith and Jeanette Hayes watched as models rocked out on velvet loungers to the sounds of Bad Girlfriend. Ian Bradley stood guard to make sure his always-impeccable styling stayed, well, impeccable. The collection, designed by the wonderful Lydnsey Butler, had a beautiful, schoolgirl-meets-punk-rock vibe. After things wrapped up on the Bowery, the festivities continued late into the night at Vice ‘s insane fashion week party at Westway that featured an adorable puppy fashion show.
